    RICA SWIMWEAR

A vibrant and sensuous new swimwear collection, Rica Swimwear offers a custom line of extraordinary, fashion–forward pieces that are as appropriate for the runway as they are for the beach. Specially created with luxurious fabrics from Spain, each of Rica's unique swimsuits and cover-ups feature innovative designs that are hand crafted into flattering shapes that make women look and feel their very best.

Rica Swimwear designer Ava Sanjurjo was born and raised in the Bronx, and her love affair with fashion began early on in life. Drawing from her families' influences, including her grandmother's colorful collection of accessories and her sister's new wave ensembles, Ava was further inspired by the 90s fashion photography and local music scene, and fueled her passion by enrolling in the renowned High School of Fashion Industries.  Upon graduation, Ava continued her education at the world famous Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where she studied under some of the brightest and most creative minds in fashion.

For the past several years, Ava Sanjurjo honed her skills working for large-scale swimwear manufacturers before launching her very own collection, Rica Swimwear.  Today, Ava's designs can be found on beaches all over the world and on select celebrity clientele, as well as gracing the pages of the 2012 Sports Illustrated "Swimwear Edition". With exquisite detailing and the high standards to which each Rica garment is held, each piece of this collection is a distinct expression of Ms. Sanjurjo's artistic and creative spirit, truly applauding and complimenting the female shape.

Ava Sanjurjo will be debuting the second collection of Rica Swimwear during Miami Swim Week in July 2012, which is guaranteed to be more of the fashionable, flattering swimsuits and cover-ups that Rica wearers have come to love and expect!

  • 2012 Taste of Greenwich House

Chefs are sharpening their knives and pulling out their best recipes to feature at the 10th Anniversary of A Taste of Greenwich House on Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Metropolitan Pavilion – all in the name of supporting Greenwich House’s 12 social service and arts programs, including treatment for victims of child abuse, medical care for home-bound seniors, afterschool arts, therapy for those living with HIV and AIDS and many other services needed in New York.

This year, Chef Joey Campanaro of The Little Owl will join forces with Bruce Sanderson, Senior Editor, Wine Spectator, at the VIP lounge to kick off an evening of the best eats east of the Hudson River.  They will be joined by over 30 other New York restaurants to raise funds to serve New Yorkers in need. Come to meet Mike Price, Market Table; Chris Siversen, Maritime Parc; Jonathan Waxman, Barbuto, and many more if you fancy a fabulous feast.

VIP Chef Joey Campanaro says, “I am proud to be a part of A Taste of Greenwich House. Not only is it an opportunity for people to have a unique culinary experience, but it is a true community event that emphasizes how we can each use our talents for the greater good. Greenwich House provides so much to New York; it is fulfilling to be able to support them on this special night.”

A lucky silent auction winner can extend the evening by attending an exclusive after-party pig roast for participating chefs, hosted by Chef Campanaro at his new space The Little Owl: The Venue.

Through the generosity of the restaurants and other supporters who give so graciously of their time and services each year, A Taste of Greenwich House has grown into one of the premiere tasting events of the season where each guest can eat and do good.
