Anisette Restaurant Review by Alice Chin
Dinner at Anisette started with one of their specials that night: Heirloom Tomato Salad with Ricotta Cheese and Parsley. The salad was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The tomatoes were farm fresh and had a great flavor that went well with the ricotta and parsley sauce. We received an order of the Goat Cheese Tart and Tuna Tartare from the kitchen. I enjoyed the Tuna Tartare, which was very light, and delicately seasoned. The flavor of goat cheese is usually too strong for me, so I only tried a little bit of the tart, which had a rich and flaky crust. Anisette also brought out a gnocchi dish which was beautifully plated with pretty white and pink radish. I wasn't a big fan of the herbs used to flavor the gnocchi and sauce, which tasted like dill and lavender. Someone who enjoys those flavors, may enjoy it more. I also ordered the Trout with Quinoa and vegetables. The trout was cooked perfectly and was lightly flavored, which brought out the simple taste of the fish. Lastly I had the shrimp risotto, the shrimp was delicious but the risotto tasted slightly under cooked and starchy. I haven't had much risotto before so I'm not sure if that was how it's supposed to taste. Anyhow, it was a pleasant meal and would recommend the restaurant to friends.
